"The Convertible" - The Belt That Longed to be a Necklace Too.

I think I have as many belts as I do shoes, necklaces, purses, hats...  *a long trailing list continues...*

I am always layering up accessories close to the point of too much, but I know when to stop.  ;)

I was inspired by a belt I had seen at a festival and I thought, hmmm...  I could make that, why should I buy it?  So!  I went to the nearest market in search of some good quality chain to attempt my first "layered" belt.  With a wonderful pile of shiny, new chain, I set myself to work and came up with this:

After trying it on, I thought about it a little and realized it would *also* make a wonderful necklace.

I have since this first sample made 3 more variations including gold chain as well as the silver and black featured here.  Somehow it came to my mind that it should be called "The Convertible".  It kinda stuck.  :)

Stay tuned...  I also have a wonderful idea for a body harness...  :3

For Men Also!!! (Bookmarks & Keychains)

I find when I am selling my pendants at markets, a lot of men look at them too, and seem quite interested.  Sometimes I think it's only that they like the photos or possibly they are thinking of a friend, partner or relative.  So!  I decided to think about other ways I can attract a male audience with these double-sided pendants.  This is what I came up with:

Bookmarks (however, these are rather feminine...  sorry guys!  I can make them unisex too!

As well I thought that keychains might be a nice idea for both men and women.  I had made a few as gifts in the past, so I thought I'd try it again:

My friend requested a custom keychain from me using his own images.  Here are both sides:

Once again, if you have any thoughts or ideas for making your own special bookmark or keychain, please do not hesitate to contact me here, on Etsy or DaWanda.

Necklaces/Halsketten & Earrings/Ohrringe

About 8 years ago I took a soldering course in stained glass work with some costuming colleges from the film industry in Vancouver.  We had all thought it would be interesting to develop another skill for our trade.  I was interested because I wanted to try to make sweet, little, double-sided, glass pendants.  After the class I purchased about $150 worth of equipment and supplies in order to conduct some soldering experiments.  It took me while to figure out the best temperature and technique to get the silver solder to go on smoothly, but once I had, and was starting to have a lot of fun!

Here are some samples of necklaces that I have sold in the past.  All containing my own photography as well from BLITZ & shadow.  The little knot in the ribbon has been removed and a small silver crimping bead has replaced it for a sleeker, professional finish.

As well as necklace pendants in this 1" x 2.25" format, (which I have currently stopped producing) I make a smaller version for earrings as well as necklaces in a 1" x 1.5" format.

Here are some samples of those, also displaying the crimping bead:

I have also found a way to use these pendants in a way that men can enjoy too (besides admiring them on their partner's décolletage.  ;)  But I will start a new post for these next.

Monster Madness

After a couple of months back living in Berlin I was able to purchase a new Singer sewing machine.  This made me sooooooo incredibly happy, as now I felt once again complete.  :D

Here are the first little critters I started making once I was set up:

The are made for protecting cell phones and iPods, but really you could use it for what ever you wished.  Here are some closer detailed photos:

"The Mean Greenie"

Also here is a custom one I made for a friend.

"The Pink Princess Monster"

I am selling them both on Etsy and DaWanda (a German platform for handmade items).  If you have an interest, please contact me!!!
